Breaking news: Drug roundup under way in parish

About 50 law enforcement officers from nine agencies, led by the Bogalusa Police Department and the Louisiana State Police Narcotics Team, began a roundup of 17 drug dealers at 4:30 this morning.

Officers gathered at the National Guard Readiness Center, were briefed and divided into four teams, then hit the streets at 5:12 a.m.

First to be arrested was Diana and Russell Ramsher, both wanted on three warrants. While they were being booked, Luther Whittem, Sr. Was brought in. Then, at about 6:35 a.m., Roy Lee Shirt was brought in.

The first three arrests were executed by the Bogalusa Police Department and the fourth by the state police.
