More than 125 youngsters from Bogalusa, Washington Parish and all across the Northshore ignored the weather and came to Louis V. Murray Stadium today to take part in the Legends All-Pro Football Camp.

This year, the eighth for the camp, there was no registration fee after camp Director Bruce Plummer was able to obtain a grant from the National Football League.

Plummer, one of a number of Bogalusa natives with a professional background, says the skills camp can help youngsters advance their performance level.

These youngsters kept the football
going during a break.
Plummer, who played at Mississippi State and with the Atlanta Falcons, was joined by Brent Grimes (Shippensburg/Falcons), Joique Bell (Wayne State/Saints), Bogalusa native Robert "Big Bird" Smith (Grambling/Bears), Bogalusa native Sean Smith (Grambling/Bears, Cowboys, Bucs, Rams), former Bogalusa quarterback Greg Greely (McNeese State) and Bogalusa native Brad Brown (Northwestern State).

While the All-Pro group now led by Plummer is best known for the camp, they have also been instrumental in getting football equipment and supplies for high schools throughout Washington Parish, including Mt. Hermon when the decision was made to start a football program.
